Applicants can show the confirmation on a phone or on paper, but the QR code must be clearly readable.
Capago Algérie, the official and exclusive provider for French visa applications, requires applicants with an appointment to show a QR code confirmation at its four centres in Algeria.
ObservAlgerie reported a reminder that Capago Algérie posted on its Facebook page on 25 October. It is addressed to people who have already booked an appointment for a French visa.
"Before you go to the centre, make sure you have your appointment confirmation," the provider said.
No one will be allowed into the centre without showing the confirmation first. The QR code is scanned at the entrance to check that the appointment is valid.
Applicants can show the confirmation on a phone or as a printed copy. In both cases, the QR code must be clearly readable.
Applicants must also come in person and bring their visa application form and supporting documents. This applies to children under 12, who do not have to give biometric data but must still attend.
The centres are in Algiers, Annaba, Constantine and Oran.
The QR code confirms the appointment only. It does not guarantee a visa, because decisions are taken only by French consular authorities.
The provider advises applicants to check the confirmation before going to the centre, to avoid problems at the entrance.
