About Adrar
The wilaya of Adrar lies in the Sahara, in the south-west of Algeria. Its neighbours include the wilayas of Béni Abbès, Timimoun, In Salah, Tamanrasset and Bordj Baji Mokhtar. Its capital is the town of Adrar. Adrar is a Berber word that means "mountain". It is wilaya number 01. In 2019 part of it became the wilayas of Timimoun and Bordj Baji Mokhtar. It now has 16 communes in 6 dairas.
