About Béni Abbès
The wilaya of Béni Abbès lies in south-west Algeria, in the Sahara. Its capital is Béni Abbès, where Charles de Foucauld settled in 1901. It is wilaya number 52. It became a full wilaya in 2019, under law 19-12 of 11 December 2019, taken from the wilaya of Béchar, of which it had been a delegated wilaya since 2015. It has 10 communes.
