An interministerial order of 24 June 2024, published in the Journal officiel no. 57 of 21 August 2024, creates an incentive bonus of 50 dinars for each kilogram of Tilapia fish produced by eligible producers.
An interministerial order dated 24 June 2024, published in the Journal officiel no. 57 of 21 August 2024, sets out an incentive bonus for producers of Tilapia fish. Under the order, producers receive 50 dinars for each kilogram of Tilapia they produce, provided they meet the conditions set out in the text.
To qualify, the producer must hold an authorisation to carry out aquaculture, and each harvest must exceed 400 kilograms. The fish must also meet minimum size requirements. The order sets a minimum weight for red Tilapia of 250 grams per fish and a minimum marketable length for Tilapia nilotica of 18 centimetres per fish.
Producers apply to the provincial fisheries and aquaculture directorate responsible for their area, using a standard form and supporting documents such as a commercial register extract and a bank or postal account details form. Applications may be sent electronically. The harvest is recorded in a report drawn up by two authorised fisheries officials and a representative of the provincial or inter-provincial fisheries chamber. The bonus is granted by decision of the provincial directorate and paid from the state budget. The order takes effect from the date it was signed.
