About Mostaganem
The wilaya of Mostaganem lies in the north-west of Algeria, on the Mediterranean coast. It borders the wilayas of Oran, Chlef, Mascara and Relizane. Its capital, Mostaganem, is identified with Murustaga, an ancient Punic port. It is wilaya number 27. It has 32 communes in 10 dairas. The wilaya had 737,118 inhabitants at the 2008 census (ONS).
