Requests and biometric files must reach the embassy by 10 November 2026, but the office date is not yet known.
The Algerian embassy in Madrid is preparing a mobile consular office in A Coruña, in north-west Spain, for Algerians living abroad.
ObservAlgerie reported that requests for the office must reach the embassy before 10 November 2026. The office will serve people in the Madrid consular area, including Algerians living in Galicia.
For these families, some formalities usually mean a trip of several hundred kilometres. Under the plan, several of these steps can be done without going to Madrid. The start date of the office is not yet known.
Services offered include consular registration and the renewal of biometric passports and biometric national identity cards. Civil status services are also offered, including the registration of births and marriages.
The office will also handle some requests linked to national service. People can also register on, or be removed from, electoral lists.
People can also collect documents that are already issued. These include passports, identity cards, national service exemption cards, deferral certificates and documents postponing call-up. Powers of attorney and parental authorisations are also issued. The availability of documents must be checked in advance, and not every formality can always be finished on the spot.
People renewing a biometric passport or biometric identity card must also send their physical file by express courier (mensajería). The file must reach the embassy at Calle del General Oraá, 12, 28006 Madrid, Spain, before 10 November 2026.
Requests by email go to misionconsular.embargelia@gmail.com. The message must give the full name, first name, telephone number, place of residence and the exact service wanted.
The 10 November date is the deadline for requests and biometric files only. The embassy has not yet given the exact date or the address of the venue in A Coruña.
