Applications are made online on Campus China, and the deadline for applications is 31 December.

China is offering 30 doctoral scholarships to Algerian students who hold a master's degree, ObservAlgerie reported. The places are for the 2027-2028 academic year, at Chinese universities and institutes.

The offer was announced on 3 November.

Students who win a place prepare their thesis at a Chinese higher education institution.

Who can apply?

To be eligible, a candidate must hold a master's degree and be no older than 40. The candidate must also receive a preliminary admission from at least one Chinese university.

Candidates should contact the Chinese institutions they want to join directly, to learn about the courses and the admission rules.

The language requirements depend on the teaching language of the chosen course. For courses taught in Chinese, candidates must present a certificate showing a pass at level 4 of the Chinese language test, known as HSK4.

How to apply

Applications are made online on Campus China, the official platform for Chinese scholarships. Candidates must choose the programme type 'Type A' and enter the organisation code 0121.

Candidates must also attach the required documents and a proof of preliminary admission issued by a Chinese university. Algerian universities said candidates should read the official document with the instructions and the documents required carefully, including the medical information needed.

The deadline for applications is 31 December 2026.

Who pays for travel?

Algerian universities said the programme comes under the scholarship offered by the Chinese side, with no extra financial support from Algeria.
