Exports rose about 10% on the same period of 2025, and agri-food exports rose 15%.
Non-hydrocarbon exports from Algeria almost reached 4bn dollars in the first eight months of 2026, a trade ministry official said.
Algérie 360 reported that Zouhir Moussaoui, central director at the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, gave the figures on Sunday. He spoke on the programme 'Dhif Sabah' on Radio Algérienne Chaîne 1. Exports were up about 10% on the same period of 2025, he said, and the figures show that exports are growing again.
Moussaoui forecast that exports would reach 5bn dollars by the end of the year. He said the aim is not only high figures, but also keeping export growth going over time.
According to the report, non-hydrocarbon exports could reduce the trade deficit and cover a large part of imports.
Agri-food exports reached 213 million dollars over the same eight months, up 15% on the same period of 2025.
Moussaoui spoke about the agri-food sector at the opening on Saturday of a fair in Blida. The fair presents agri-food industry products under the slogan 'Made in Algeria'.
He said such fairs help people know national products, open cooperation between producers and business partners, and strengthen the link between producers and consumers. They also encourage companies to target foreign markets and show their competitiveness. For readers, the sources say these fairs can help Algerian food companies find trade partners abroad.
The challenge, he said, is to sustain this export growth and make it last.
