Date exports reached 98.32m dollars in 2025, and exporters filed 3,900 applications with the Special Export Promotion Fund.

Algeria's exports outside oil and gas rose by nearly 1bn dollars in 2025, Kamel Rezig, minister of foreign trade and export promotion, said on Thursday.

TSA reported that the minister gave the details during a session of oral questions at the Council of the Nation.

Exports outside gas and oil reached 5.16bn dollars at the end of 2025, a rise of 972m dollars on the level of 2024.

For 2026, Algeria expects exports outside oil and gas of 5bn dollars.

Exports of dates were worth 78.06m dollars in 2024 and rose to 98.32m dollars in 2025. In the first half of 2026 they reached 75.04m dollars, the minister said.

The minister outlined the national export development strategy, which rests on improving export infrastructure and making it easier for exporting companies to work. It also includes export plans for priority sectors and support for exporting companies.

The minister mentioned the Special Export Promotion Fund, which received 3,900 applications from exporters in 2025. Most of the applications sought help with part of the costs of taking part in international economic events and of international transport, according to the minister.
