Chosen participants must then bring a project back to their region, based on their time in the US.

The US embassy in Algeria opened applications on Sunday for the 2027 edition of the Community Solutions Program (CSP), an exchange for Algerians working in local economic development.

DNAlgerie reported that the programme is for professionals who already hold responsibilities in their field and take an active part in their community's development. Applicants must be aged 27 to 39 and have at least five years of relevant work experience.

Applicants have until 24 November to apply.

The programme offers a stay of three to four months in the United States, including a 12-week placement with an American organisation. It is designed as a training course for local leaders who work on economic and social issues.

The programme aims to build participants' leadership and technical skills, and to show them working methods used by American organisations. It looks for people who help create jobs, grow businesses, improve career paths or promote tourism.

Professionals working on new technologies and on wider economic opportunities are also included.

Costs covered by the US

The US government plans to cover the main costs of the stay.

These include a return flight between the home country and the United States, shared accommodation with other participants and meals. Health insurance is also covered.

Back in Algeria

Once back in Algeria, participants must lead a local project named "SCALE-Up". The project is meant to help them use the knowledge and methods gained abroad to support economic development in their region or community.

Candidates must check the conditions on the official platform of the programme.
