About Oum El Bouaghi
The wilaya of Oum El Bouaghi lies in the north-east of Algeria, between the Tell and the Aurès. It borders the wilayas of Constantine, Guelma, Souk Ahras, Tébessa, Khenchela, Batna and Mila. Its capital is the town of Oum El Bouaghi, called Macomades in Roman times. It is wilaya number 04. It has 29 communes in 12 dairas. The wilaya had 621,612 inhabitants at the 2008 census (ONS).
