About Timimoun
The wilaya of Timimoun lies in the Algerian Sahara, in the Gourara region at the edge of the Grand Erg Occidental. Its capital, Timimoun, is called the "Red Oasis". It is wilaya number 49. It became a full wilaya in 2019, under law 19-12 of 11 December 2019, taken from the wilaya of Adrar, of which it had been a delegated wilaya since 2015. It has 10 communes in 4 dairas.
