About Tindouf
The wilaya of Tindouf lies in the Sahara, in the far south-west of Algeria, on the borders with Morocco and Mauritania. Its neighbours include the wilaya of Adrar. Its capital, Tindouf, was built in 1852 by the Tajakant tribe. It is wilaya number 37. It has 2 communes in 1 daira. The wilaya had 49,149 inhabitants at the 2008 census (ONS).
