The chat inside the game stays disabled in Algeria until sufficient safeguards are in place. The minister, Sid Ali Zerrouki, named these safeguards. They are protection for children, wider parental controls over screen time, spending and content, and fast channels for reports.

Roblox was blocked in Algeria in September 2025. According to Agence Ecofin, the agreement lifts the ban.

Sid Ali Zerrouki also gave a figure for the world video game industry. According to the minister, it is worth about 323 billion dollars.
