Export sales made up most of the group's revenue, with 5,230bn dinars (DZD) earned abroad.

Algeria's gas output reached a record 134.3bn cubic metres in 2025, up from 127.9bn in 2024, according to the 2025 review published by Sonatrach and reported by TSA.

The review puts total primary hydrocarbon output for 2025 at 193.7 million TEP. TEP means tonnes of oil equivalent, a unit used to compare different fuels.

Crude oil output was 47.5 million tonnes in 2025. Condensates reached 8.3 million tonnes, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) 8.7 million tonnes.

According to TSA, output was a little over 100bn cubic metres in 2022. President Abdelmadjid Tebboune set a goal that year of doubling output, with half sent abroad and half kept for the domestic market, whose needs are constantly growing.

TSA reported that the goal is on the way to being realised. TSA also reported that output had risen by a third in three years, as many European countries repeatedly asked for more deliveries.

Sonatrach's export revenue reached 5,230bn dinars (DZD), or 38.53bn dollars, out of total revenue of 5,748bn dinars, or 42.34bn dollars.

Output of liquefied natural gas (LNG) reached 20.9 million cubic metres in 2025, of which 20.5 million cubic metres were exported.

The average LNG price rose 3% to 10.82 dollars per million British thermal units (MMBtu) in 2025, from 10.50 dollars in 2024, Sonatrach said.

The average price of natural gas, which makes up 34% of Sonatrach's exports, fell 8% to 9.54 dollars per MMBtu, from 10.36 dollars in 2024, Sonatrach said.

According to Sonatrach, Algeria is now Italy's first supplier of natural gas and Spain's second supplier. It is also the second supplier of LNG to Turkey and Greece.

Sonatrach said it had added medium- and short-term contracts to its long-term deals, which remain part of its portfolio. It said this gave the group more flexibility.

Sonatrach has an LNG production capacity of 56 million cubic metres a year. It said this allows it to supply customers in the Mediterranean, Europe, Asia and other markets, depending on trade opportunities.
