From 1 July 2026, Algerians applying for a long-stay Belgian visa pay 250 euros instead of 180 euros. Applications now go through the private provider TLScontact.

The Belgian embassy in Algiers announced the change at the end of June. TLScontact now handles appointments, submission and payment, while the embassy still decides on each application.

The new fee applies to any appointment after 30 June.

On 31 March 2026 Algeria and Belgium signed two agreements in Brussels, one removing visas for diplomatic and service passports and one on the return of Algerians without the right to stay.
