Applicants have until 18 November to apply for courses starting in August 2027 at universities in Lebanon.
The United States embassy in Algeria announced on Monday that applications are open for a scholarship programme for Algerian students who want to study abroad.
The programme, called Tomorrow's Leaders, is funded by the US State Department under the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI).
The embassy said in a statement on its Facebook page that the scheme is open to young Algerians with good school results and leadership potential.
Applications close on 18 November, and candidates apply through the official Tomorrow's Leaders website.
Pupils in their final year of secondary school, and those who passed the baccalaureate in 2026, can apply. Applicants must also have a good school record, show leadership skills and be available to start their studies in August 2027.
Good English is needed, because all courses are taught in English, but TOEFL or IELTS certificates are not required when applying.
Applicants must first take a free online English assessment offered by Arizona State University.
Shortlisted candidates will then take an official language test, and the programme will pay the fee.
The programme is also open to young people from several countries in the Middle East and North Africa, including Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Jordan and Lebanon.
Selected students will have their university fees covered for up to four years, including tuition and registration costs.
They will also receive university accommodation, health insurance, a monthly allowance, help to buy textbooks and a laptop.
The scheme also covers visa and residence permit fees, and provides two return flights a year to Algeria.
Students will study at the American University of Beirut (AUB) and the Lebanese American University (LAU), both in Lebanon. A semester of study in the United States may also be offered under certain conditions.
To apply, candidates must fill in an online form and send their academic transcripts, any diplomas they hold, and details of extracurricular or volunteer activities.
Pre-selection interviews are planned for January 2027, followed by language and academic assessments from February to April. The first conditional offers of admission will be announced between May and July 2027.
Selected candidates will attend preparation sessions for departure in August, before joining their host university.
