President Tebboune told ministers to respect every deadline set for strategic projects. The Agriculture Minister promised to deliver one million imported sheep at least 48 hours before Eid al-Adha.

The meeting took place on Sunday 17 May. The president asked the government to use Algeria's oil resources to produce raw material for plastics locally and so cut imports.

He asked the water company ADE to open offices in every commune. He also asked for a full industry around critical minerals, starting with helium.

The fertiliser company Fertial was given exclusive rights, at first, to use the concentrated phosphate. A March meeting had capped the price of imported sheep at 50,000 dinars.
