The Ministry of Agriculture opened bookings for one million imported sheep for Eid al-Adha through the website adhahi.dz only. Paying online brought the price down from 50,000 to 48,000 dinars.

Minister Yacine Oualid announced the launch on Saturday 18 April. The price was 50,000 dinars in cash, 49,000 dinars by card at a terminal, and 48,000 dinars online.

Buyers received a text message with the date, time and place of collection. No other sales channel was allowed.

President Tebboune decided on the import on 7 January, and the Council of Ministers capped the price at 50,000 dinars on 8 March, up from 40,000 dinars in 2025. The sheep came from countries including Spain, Romania, Brazil and Uruguay, with deliveries due by 20 May. A July inquiry later found irregularities in the operation.
