Ministry opens 56 road projects and launches 39 more

The ministry's list includes roads in Tipaza, where the minister also inspected a 1.2 km interchange.
According to Awras, Algeria's Ministry of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure announced 95 road projects across 24 wilayas, covering 853.5 km of national and wilaya roads.
The ministry said 56 of the projects are due to be put into service, covering 464.5 km. It also said 39 new projects, covering 389 km, will be launched as part of the national programme to develop, modernise and maintain the road networks.
The ministry said the programme aims to strengthen links between different regions.
Abdelkader Djellaoui, minister of public works and basic infrastructure, oversaw the putting into service of a 10 km expressway linking Douaoud and Bouismail in Tipaza.
The minister also inspected work to improve a 1.2 km interchange on the Bouismail to Cherchell expressway, in Tipaza commune. The project aims to increase the interchange's capacity to handle traffic, and to reduce traffic pressure through better links to the expressway.
Djellaoui ordered that work should move more quickly, so the project could be completed and put into service within the set deadlines.
The minister was also given a presentation on the public works sector in Tipaza. It covered the number of projects recorded, how far they have progressed and future priorities for roads and basic infrastructure in the wilaya.
The ministry said the minister is expected to oversee the putting into service of a rebuilt engineering structure on National Road 11, at kilometre point 34+146 in Douaoud commune.
