Sonatrach signs a cooperation agreement with China's Sinopec

Sonatrach and the Chinese group Sinopec signed a memorandum of understanding in Beijing. It covers oil and gas, petrochemicals and helium.
The signing took place on Friday 28 August during a visit to China by Sonatrach's chief executive, Nour Eddine Daoudi, with a senior delegation.
The memorandum lets the two companies study cooperation in conventional and unconventional hydrocarbons, complex reservoirs, petrochemicals and helium. It also covers petroleum engineering, renewable energy, new technology and training. It builds on an agreement the two firms signed in 2024.
No value, timetable or specific project was announced. On 29 August Sonatrach signed a second memorandum, on oilfield services, with Anton Oilfield Services Group.
