US magazine names Algerian professor Belgacem Haba Inventor of the Month

The profile describes his work on the chips inside smartphones, laptops and AI processors.
Algérie 360 reported that the American magazine Inventors Digest has named Belgacem Haba, a scientist and professor, Inventor of the Month.
The honour appears in the October 2026 edition of the magazine, which worked with the IDiyas platform on the profile. The profile is titled "The Invisible Architect: Belgacem Haba and the Hidden Glue of Modern Tech".
Haba was born in 1957 in El M'Ghair, a small town with no electricity, according to the article.
He studied physics at the University of Algiers before moving to the United States. There he earned two master's degrees and a doctorate in materials science at Stanford University.
He then worked for large technology companies, including IBM, NEC in Tokyo, Rambus and Adeia, where he led research teams. He also helped design and improve data centres for Google.
The article says he holds more than 650 patents registered in the United States and more than 3,000 worldwide.
He is a pioneer of chip-scale packaging and 3D chip stacking, methods that let chips be packed into small spaces. The article says these techniques help smartphones, laptops and processors for artificial intelligence (AI) work efficiently while avoiding overheating.
Outside the laboratory, he trains and mentors young Algerians. He co-founded the Haba Institute and the Numidia Institute of Technology, which aim to train talent and link Algeria with global technology.
