William Grigahcine grew up in Ermont, north of Paris. As a teenager he painted graffiti and played records in the Paris suburbs, before he began to produce music.
Success came in 2013 with Turn Down for What, recorded with the American rapper Lil Jon. Lean On followed in 2015 and Taki Taki in 2018, and that year Billboard magazine ranked him ninth in its Dance 100.
In 2022 the producer released Disco Maghreb, named after a famous Algerian record label. He filmed the video in Oran, and the song mixes electronic beats with the sounds of raï, the popular music of western Algeria.
