About National Museum of the Moudjahid
The National Museum of the Moudjahid, a fighter of the war of independence, tells the story of Algeria's struggle for freedom from France. Visitors find the exhibits clear and moving, with most texts in Arabic and French.
The Musée national du Moudjahid, named after the fighters for independence, was created on 2 December 1972 and first housed in El-Biar. It moved to the lower level of the memorial, where it opened on 5 July 1982, and presents Algerian history from 1830 to 1962. Its collections include objects linked to Emir Abdelkader.
