Sidi Ammar

Sidi Ammar is a commune of the wilaya of Annaba, in the daira, or district, of El Hadjar. It is home to the El Hadjar iron and steel complex and to the first site of Badji Mokhtar University of Annaba. It had 83,254 inhabitants at the 2008 census (ONS). Other spellings of the name are Sidi Amar and Sidi Amer, and in Arabic it is written سيدي عمار.
