Béjaïa is the end of a railway branch line from Beni Mansour, on the Algiers to Sétif line. This branch was part of the railway programme of 1879 to 1906.

Beni Mansour, a village of Boudjellil about 90 km from Béjaïa, is a railway junction. There, the line from Béjaïa, about 90 km long, meets the line from Algiers to Skikda.

Sidi Aïch stands in the Soummam valley, on the railway between Béjaïa and Beni Mansour. In June 2009, the town was among the stops of a new Béjaïa to Beni Mansour train, after El Kseur and before Akbou.

By road

The RN24, the national road that links Béjaïa to Tizi Ouzou along the west coast, crosses Beni Ksila and passes Cap Sigli.

The RN 9, the national road from Béjaïa to Sétif, crosses the town of Tichy. It crosses Souk El Ténine at the roundabout of Lota, a locality by the sea, and links Souk El Ténine with Aokas.

The road through the Kherrata gorges, near Taskriout, is today the RN 9 and was built under French rule. Work began in the 1860s and ended in 1870.
