The first stage covers 3,789 units, and the national plan aims for two million homes between 2025 and 2029.
Housing minister Mohamed Tarek Belaribi announced on Saturday the start of distribution for the first stage of AADL 3, a state housing programme, in 12 wilayas (Algeria's administrative regions).
Algérie 360 reported that the first stage includes 3,789 units spread across the 12 wilayas.
The programme has moved through three phases. A registration platform was set up in 2024, and applications were processed in 2025.
The programme now reaches the phase of launching building sites and delivering homes in 2026.
"The criterion of our success is not what we announce, but what we achieve on the ground," the minister said (translated from French).
The state has set aside 850,000 housing units in total under the 2025, 2026 and 2027 finance laws. The aim is to complete the programme in full.
The minister added that AADL 3 is part of the national plan launched by the President of the Republic. The announcement came ahead of celebrations for the 72nd anniversary of the start of the Glorious Revolution of National Liberation.
The story does not say who can apply for AADL 3 homes, how to apply, or when the lists of selected applicants will be published.
The national plan aims to build and distribute two million homes between 2025 and 2029.
