The weekly Thursday service runs from 29 October to 25 March 2027, while Volotea cuts its France-Algeria flights this winter.

Air Algérie will run a direct weekly flight between Metz-Nancy-Lorraine in France and Oran all year, including the winter season, ObservAlgerie reported.

Until now, the direct route has mainly been offered in summer. The change is aimed particularly at travellers living in north-east France, and the route makes it possible to reach western Algeria without a connection.

Bookings are open through Air Algérie's sales channels, and travellers can check seats for their own dates.

When do the flights run?

Lorraine Airport said the flight leaves Metz every Thursday, including during winter 2026-2027. Its timetable shows departures from Metz at 16:50, with arrival in Oran at 19:10, local time.

The return flight leaves Oran at 13:30 and lands in Metz at 15:50, French time. The journey takes about two hours and 20 minutes, according to the airport.

These times apply from 29 October to 25 March 2027. Air Algérie may still change them. Lorraine Airport's website shows flights on the route until 27 March 2027.

What about Algiers and Constantine?

The airport's winter programme also keeps Air Algérie flights from Metz to Algiers and Constantine, ObservAlgerie reported. The Algiers service runs four times a week, on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and takes about two hours and five minutes.

The Constantine flight runs once a week, on Wednesdays, and takes about two hours and 15 minutes.

Other airlines

Other airlines are cutting back on France-Algeria routes this winter. Volotea has announced a fall of 32.9% in flights and 33.2% in seat capacity for winter 2026-2027, Maghreb Emergent reported.

Volotea's Bordeaux-Oran flights fall from 63 to 44, and its Lyon-Sétif flights from 97 to 86. Its Marseille to Béjaïa route is suspended for now, according to Maghreb Emergent.
