The route starts with one flight a week and rises to two flights a week from March 2027.

Air Algérie has announced a new direct route from Algiers to Athens, the Greek capital, starting on 24 December 2026.

According to Maghreb Emergent, bookings are already open. Passengers can buy tickets on the Air Algérie website, through its call centre or at its commercial agencies.

The route will allow passengers to fly from Algeria to Athens without a stop. The source says it will suit holidays, family visits and business trips, and it will also make short stays in Greece easier.

Flight schedule

At first, the route will operate one flight a week. From March 2027, it will rise to two flights a week, according to the report.

Maghreb Emergent advises travellers to check dates, times, fare conditions and baggage rules before buying a ticket. The report also says that schedules can change, so travellers should check the latest information with the company.

Other new routes

The Athens launch follows several other routes opened at the end of October 2026. Air Algérie has scheduled flights to Conakry, Brazzaville and Lagos, and has restarted its route to Tripoli.

In Asia, the company launched a flight from Algiers to Shanghai on 26 October 2026. The Shanghai flight adds to the company's existing services to Beijing and Guangzhou.
