Aouar scored for Al-Ittihad against Abha, and Benrahma set up a goal in NEOM's 2-1 win at Al-Diriyah.
Algerian international Houssem Aouar scored for Al-Ittihad in their Saudi Pro League match against Abha on Friday, while Said Benrahma helped NEOM win at Al-Diriyah.
Aouar's goal came at the start of the second half, after the Abha goalkeeper made a serious mistake and let him put the ball into the net. Al-Ittihad, from Jeddah, failed to win in the end and finished with a draw, a result that Awras said does not help the club.
The organisers named Aouar man of the match and gave him the award, but he appeared unhappy with the result. Aouar has scored three goals in a short time, and his form has improved since the start of the season.
In another Saudi Pro League match, Said Benrahma, a former West Ham player, helped NEOM take all three points from their away trip to Al-Diriyah. Benrahma scored from a penalty just before half-time to level the score, then set up the second goal for Alexander Lacazette.
Adel Bolbina started for Al-Diriyah but was replaced around the 70th minute, in a match that NEOM won 2-1.
Like Aouar, Benrahma was named man of the match. He has been in good form, helping his club to two wins in a row.
Aouar is a former Lyon player, and Benrahma is a former West Ham player. Both are now playing in the Saudi league.
