Algeria launched "Summer Camp 2026", a holiday programme of lessons and activities for children of the diaspora. It runs in 14 wilayas for children aged 8 to 16.
The Secretary of State for the National Community Abroad, Sofiane Chaïb, opened the programme on Sunday 19 July at the mathematics lycée in Kouba. The Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Youth run it together.
There are three sessions in July and August, each mixing classes with cultural, sport and leisure activities.
The host wilayas are Chlef, Béjaïa, Biskra, Tlemcen, Tiaret, Algiers, Jijel, Sétif, Skikda, Annaba, El Bayadh, El Oued, Khenchela and Aïn Témouchent. Families could register online or, from 8 July, directly at the host schools.
