Children under 15 also get the exemption, and the visa-free stay is limited to 90 days in any 180-day period.

Algerians aged over 50 can enter Turkey without a visa from June 2026, after a Turkish presidential decree lowered the age from 65 to 50, Algérie 360 reported.

Children under 15 get the same exemption. The visa-free stay cannot exceed 90 days in any 180-day period, and it covers tourism and transit through Turkey. Travellers must show a valid passport on arrival.

Algerians aged 15 to 18 and 35 to 50 can apply for an e-visa, which costs 56 US dollars for Algerian nationals. It allows a stay of one month with a single entry. The traveller must already hold a valid visa or residence permit issued by a Schengen country, the United States, the United Kingdom or Ireland.

The e-visa application is made only on the official portal, evisa.gov.tr. The traveller enters identity, passport and travel details, then pays by bank card. According to the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the process takes about three minutes. The outlet's advice is to avoid unofficial sites, which often charge extra fees for the same process.

The classic visa, placed in the passport, is still required for Algerians aged 18 to 35. It also applies to travellers aged 15 to 18 and 35 to 50 who hold no valid visa or residence permit from the countries listed above, and they cannot apply for an e-visa. Applications are made at the Turkish embassy or consulates in Algeria. A visa from an embassy or consulate is also needed for work or study. The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs offers an online pre-application system for this visa. The list of documents and processing times can vary, according to the report.

Turkish law requires a passport valid for at least 60 days beyond the authorised stay, according to the report. For a 90-day stay, the passport must cover at least 150 days on arrival. For a one-month e-visa, it must cover at least 90 days. The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends a passport valid for at least six months on arrival. Airlines often check passport validity before departure.

Franco-Algerians can travel to Turkey with a French passport, according to the report.
