The archaeological site of Rusguniae holds the ruins of a Roman town. It lies beside the harbour of Tamentfoust, in El Marsa.
The Roman town of Rusguniae, in the province of Mauretania Caesariensis, stood at Tamentfoust. Two Roman inscriptions from the site are dedicated to the divine powers and to Saturn. The medieval geographer Ibn Hawqal described the place, and a medieval text speaks of "a fine harbour beside a small ruined town".
