Bordj El Bahri

Bordj El Bahri is a coastal commune of the wilaya of Algiers. In the colonial period the town was called Cap Matifou. It belongs to the Dar El Beïda circonscription administrative, with Dar El Beïda, Bab Ezzouar and Bordj El Kiffan. This is one of 13 groups of communes created by decree 26-112 of 8 March 2026. Bordj El Bahri had 52,816 inhabitants at the 2008 census (ONS).
