Oued Koriche

Oued Koriche is a small hillside commune of the wilaya of Algiers, between Bab El Oued, the Casbah, El-Biar and Bouzareah. In colonial times the area was known as Climat-de-France and Frais-Vallon. The quarters of Climat de France and Frais Vallon still carry these names. It belongs to the Bab El Oued circonscription administrative, one of the 13 groups of communes created by decree 26-112 of 8 March 2026. It had 46,182 inhabitants at the 2008 census (ONS).
