About Reghaïa
Reghaïa is a commune about 30 km east of central Algiers, home to the Lake Reghaïa nature reserve, which it shares with H'raoua. It belongs to the Rouïba circonscription administrative, with Rouïba, H'raoua, Aïn Taya and El Marsa. This is one of 13 groups of communes created by decree 26-112 of 8 March 2026. Reghaïa had 85,452 inhabitants at the 2008 census (ONS).
