Around Seraïdi the forests of the Edough are mainly cork oak, with zen oak.
In 2007, scientists described a new springtail, a tiny soil animal, from the oak forest of Seraïdi and named its genus Edoughnura, after the massif.
Poiret's newt breeds in the ponds and cisterns of the Edough.
In 2004 the International Union for Conservation of Nature listed Poiret's newt as endangered.
