Families apply locally, at wilaya level, for places in these classes.

The Official Journal has published a decree that sets the rules for special classes in ordinary schools for pupils with specific needs, and for reasonable adjustments during their exams.

The decree is Executive Decree 26-312. It was published in Official Journal No. 72 on 13 October, and the Prime Minister signed it on 22 September.

The text was issued on the report of the minister of national solidarity, family and the condition of women. It applies articles 20 and 22 of Law No. 25-01 of 20 February 2025 on the protection and promotion of people with specific needs.

Under the decree, pupils with specific needs can be fully integrated into ordinary classes, or partly integrated into special classes.

The decree says integration includes the conditions, resources, qualified teachers and specialised support needed.

Pupils with specific needs in special classes have the same rights and duties as other pupils, under current laws and rules. The decree also covers reasonable adjustments during exams and competitions.

For admission, parents file the application with the wilaya's direction of social action and solidarity, in their place of residence. The decree sets how such classes open, and how families apply for places.

No date from which the decree applies is given in the sources.
