About Dar El Baroud, Casbah
Dar El Baroud, the old powder store, stands in the Citadel at the top of the Casbah, on Boulevard Mohamed Taleb. Gunpowder was kept here when the fortress was a military site. Visitors find it an interesting place to learn about the history of the Casbah and Algiers.
After restoration, the Dey's mosque and Dar El Baroud were open to the public by 2024.
