The eighth ICNAS international conference on networks and advanced systems takes place at Badji Mokhtar University of Annaba on 4 and 5 November 2026, in hybrid format.

The Badji Mokhtar University of Annaba hosts the eighth edition of the International Conference on Networks and Advanced Systems (ICNAS'2026) on 4 and 5 November 2026. It is organised by the Networks and Systems Laboratory (LRS) and held in hybrid format, both in person and online. The conference has been held every two years since 2013 and is a reference scientific platform in networks, embedded systems, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

The 2026 edition is built around five main themes: quantum computing and its applications, including quantum algorithms, quantum machine learning, quantum photonics and fault-tolerant systems; networks and next-generation networks, such as 5G/6G, the Internet of Things, software-defined networking and edge computing; virtual, augmented and mixed reality; security and privacy protection; and applied artificial intelligence, including deep learning, federated learning, natural language processing and intelligent health systems.

Four plenary speakers take part. Professor Amine Bermak, IEEE Fellow and Distinguished Professor at Hamad Bin Khalifa University in Qatar, speaks on extreme edge intelligence, bringing AI closer to sensors. Professor Imed Ben Dhaou, Full Professor at Dar Al-Hekma University and Docent at the University of Turku in Finland, is an expert in embedded systems for the Internet of Things. Professor Tarek Gaber, Senior Lecturer at the University of Salford and Honorary Lecturer at the University of Liverpool, specialises in AI applied to cybersecurity. Dr Mohamed Chahine Ghanem, Associate Professor and Research Lead in cybersecurity at Keele University, speaks on the security and resilience of cyber-physical systems in the age of AI.

The conference is held under the honorary presidency of Professor Mohamed Mana, Rector of the university. Professor Nassira Ghoualmi-Zine, Director of the LRS, chairs the conference, and Professor Samir Benmoussa, Dean of the Faculty of Technology, chairs the organising committee. It has official authorisation from ATRST and the support of the African Federation of Operations Research Societies (AFROS) and the University of Sfax in Tunisia.

Submissions are accepted as short papers of up to 4 pages or regular papers of 6 to 10 pages, through the Microsoft CMT platform. Accepted and presented papers are published in the official conference proceedings with an ISBN. The final version of papers is due on 10 October 2026.
