Bir El Djir

Bir El Djir gives its name to the daira, or district, that also includes Hassi Bounif and Hassi Ben Okba. In the colonial period it was the village of Arcole. It had 152,151 inhabitants at the 2008 census (ONS). Its places include the Miloud Hadefi Olympic Complex and the University of Science and Technology of Oran Mohamed Boudiaf.
