Gdyel

Gdyel is the seat of the daira, or district, of Gdyel, which also includes Ben Freha and Hassi Mefsoukh. In colonial times it was called Saint-Cloud, a name taken from a shop sign painted in the 1840s. It had 37,315 inhabitants at the 2008 census (ONS). Its places include Kristel cove and beach, Lake Telamine, the Pointe de l'Aiguille and the Dr Feradi Mohamed Ben Amar Hospital.
