The gorge and Djebel Ouahch
In Constantine, the boulevard de l'Abîme runs along the cliff. Built in the early 20th century, it has views into the gorge.
On the heights of the city stands the forest of Djebel Ouahch, with natural lakes. Part of it is a biological reserve, a protected natural area.
Mountains and passes
The Chettaba mountains rise west of Constantine. The north of Aïn Abid is hill country. Its heights include the mountain Djebel Oum Settas and the summits Hadjar el Touila, Kef el Rherib and Kef et Teboul.
The Col d'El Kantour, a mountain pass on the RN3 road between Constantine and Skikda, lies in the north of Zighoud Youcef. It is close to the boundary with the wilaya of Skikda, and the ridge of Djebel Kantour rises just east of it.
Places for leisure
The Chettaba area of Aïn Smara and El Meridj, in El-Khroub, are tourism zones of the wilaya reserved for sport and leisure. Part of the El Meridj Est forest, on the land of El-Khroub, is a recreational forest, kept for public leisure.
Warm springs
Warm springs rise in the Hamma Bouziane area: Aïn Skhouna, also written Hammam Skhoune, and Hammam Zaoui, also written Hammam Zouaoui. Their water comes from a limestone aquifer, a layer of rock that holds water underground.
Studies give 28 °C to 33 °C at the springs and 34 °C in the boreholes, and call the water good for drinking.
