Algiers hosts Global Africa Tech summit in April 2027, ministry says

The second edition will focus on artificial intelligence infrastructure and expects more than 10,000 participants.
The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications will hold the second Global Africa Tech summit in Algiers from 12 to 14 April 2027, a statement said.
Algérie Eco reported the ministry's statement, which said the event is held under the high patronage of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. Algérie Télécom is a partner, and the summit will take place at the Abdelatif Rahal International Conference Centre (CIC).
The theme is investing in the infrastructure of artificial intelligence (AI), and ways to finance and develop it. The ministry said the aim is to widen the use of AI across the continent.
The summit is built around several strategic areas. These include data centres and computing, energy, connectivity, cloud computing, data and cybersecurity, and skills development and scientific research.
The summit programme aims to link African projects with investors and technology partners, so that ideas can become projects that can be financed and built.
More than 10,000 participants are expected, including more than 40 ministers and senior officials. More than 50 executive directors and technology leaders from 50 countries are also expected.
The event also aims to attract international institutions that manage more than 100bn dollars in assets.
Registration is open through the dedicated summit website, the ministry said.
