Several cable cars climb from the lower town to the hills, among them the lines to the Martyrs' Memorial, Notre-Dame d'Afrique and Bouzareah. A cable car built in 1956 and renovated in 1982 climbs from the Hamma quarter to El Madania, at Diar El Mahçoul. A second line, opened in 1987, links the Jardin d'Essai with the Martyrs' Memorial.

A short cable car, built by Poma, links the Bologhine seafront with Notre-Dame d'Afrique. It was renovated in 2007 and 2008.

A cable car entered service between Basetta station, in Bab El Oued, and Z'ghara, on the heights of Algiers, on 2 January 2019. It stops on the way at Village Céleste and offers a way to reach the basilica of Notre-Dame d'Afrique.

A gondola lift, a cable car with small cabins, has linked Oued Koriche with Bouzareah since September 2014. It stops at Beau Fraisier on the way, and its blue cabins climb to more than 360 m. Built by Garaventa, the line is 2,908 m long.

Three stops of the national railway company SNTF serve Rouïba on the line east of Algiers. They are Rouïba, Rouïba Industrial Zone and Rouïba SNVI.

The village of Ouled Chebel lies 2.5 km north west of Chebli, a town in the wilaya of Blida. A railway station stands at the northern edge of the commune.

By road

The village of Birkhadem grew in importance because the road to Blida passes through it, and this road became national road RN 1 from 1845. Today the southern ring road ends on the town square, where it joins the RN 1.
